Cactus Tours in Cabo: what to know before a UTV adventure

← Back to the blog · TRAVEL

A Cabo itinerary can absolutely include a beautiful hotel and a day that calls for clothes you don’t mind getting dusty. My Cactus Tours UTV outing belongs in that second category. If you’ve seen the video and want to plan something similar, start with the details behind the scenery.

Disclosure: My Cactus Tours experience was hosted. This guide combines that filmed outing with practical questions to ask before your own booking; current package details should come from the operator.

Know which experience you’re booking

ATV and UTV aren’t interchangeable labels. Look at the vehicle, seating and whether you’ll drive or ride as a passenger. Cactus Tours offers different experiences, so make sure the name on your confirmation matches the one you want. A hero photo isn’t a complete itinerary.

Ask how long you’ll actually be out on the route, how much time is set aside for check-in and briefing, and whether transfers are included for your hotel. Those answers help you decide whether to keep the rest of the day open.

Get the full price before you arrive

Ask for an itemized total that explains any admission charges, vehicle protection options, transfers and photo packages. Clarify what’s required, what’s optional and what payment methods are accepted. If you’re traveling with someone, confirm whether the price is per person or per vehicle.

Keep the confirmation and cancellation terms somewhere you can access offline. It’s much easier to enjoy an outing when the logistics aren’t a surprise at the counter.

Dress for the activity

Choose secure shoes and clothing that works with the operator’s equipment and instructions. Leave delicate pieces and loose accessories for dinner. Bring the essentials the operator recommends, and ask what you can store during the ride.

Before filming, ask about the rules for phones and cameras. If you’re driving, let the activity have your full attention. Any footage should come from an approved stop, a permitted setup or the operator’s photography service.

Respect the route and the coast

Cactus Tours says guests may not enter the ocean during its activities. Coastal views are part of the setting; they’re not an invitation to add a swim. Follow the briefing and stay with your guide’s instructions throughout.

Build in a reset afterward

Give yourself time to get back, change and regroup before a dressy reservation. Adventure days and polished dinner plans can live in the same itinerary; they just need a little space between them.
